Having graduated from Bangkok College of Fine Art in 1980 and Phorchang College of Art in 1982, Tattaya Laokwansathit (46) is an established and renowned artist.
Having painted since she was young, Tattaya’s developed style with acrylic on canvas captures her muses in a distinct and unique fashion.
A mother herself, Tattaya’s work is deeply influenced by the working children of Bangkok. Wishing to enlighten people on the lives of children working on the street corners, selling flowers, food or papers to passing motorists, Tattaya captures the emotion of the children and their condition.
“I want to show people how in this society and culture it is necessary for some children to work…I want others to be aware of what they see and how they feel about this issue”.
